Step 1:

For this guide on how to draw a diamond, it will be very useful to use a ruler and a light pencil in addition to your usual drawing utensil. Once you have a ruler to use, carefully examine the reference image to replicate the shape we have on it. Two long lines will form the bottom, while the top will have two short ones on the sides and a rounded, angular top. It is recommended to use a light pencil as it can be difficult to get this shape correct. Once you’re happy with the outline, you can review it using a darker pen or pencil.

Step 2:

Once you have completed the outline of your diamond design, you can begin drawing on the many sides of the diamond. The top of the diamond has a flat top, so that’s what we’ll draw for this step. To draw the top of the diamond, you will draw a line connecting the top corners with a line that will mirror the top of your diamond shape. Like the topline, this one is rounded but a bit angular. If you need help with this line, you can round it off more and the top line.

Step 3:

In Step 3 of our guide to drawing a diamond, we’ll add another angle to the drawing. To do this, add another line similar to the one you drew for the diamond’s top. This line will go from the bottom to the top corners you used in the previous step. Again, you can always use a rounder line if the subtle angles of this line don’t work for you!

Step 4:

For this step of drawing your diamond, we will use a few straight lines to create the angle of the diamond directly in front of us. To do this, you’ll want to use your ruler to draw two angled lines between the two lines near the top of your diamond. The reference image will help you know where to draw those lines! Then draw two long lines from these, but move them, so they meet at the tip of your diamond.

Step 5:

We’ll draw the final lines in this step of our guide on how to draw a diamond! Two more lines will be drawn from the tip of the diamond until they meet the first horizontal line. In the end, where they touch this line, carefully remove two more but at a distinct angle so that they feel the flat lid of the diamond.

Once you have drawn these lines, your diamond drawing is complete! Before moving on to the last coloring step of this guide, you can draw any fun objects or accessories you want. Some ideas might be to draw a ring under your diamond or draw laser lines around it to make it look like you’re under surveillance in a museum! What fun ideas or scenarios can you come up with to complete your diamond drawing?

Step 6:
