This wolf cub will melt the heart of anyone who sees it!
There’s some great detail in this drawing, but we’ll cover them all as we move through the guide to ensure you stay focused.
How to Draw A Cartoon Wolf
Step 1
In this tutorial, we will create an adorable cartoon wolf, so let’s start with the outline of the head.
Even though we are only creating the outline for part of the wolf, there are still many details that we will include here.
The head is fairly round overall, but the muzzle and mouth will protrude somewhat. The ears will also be quite large compared to the rest of the head.
The outline of the head has some curved and pointed parts that stick out to make the head look nice and hairy.
You’ll end up with an open mouth showing some pointy teeth, and then we’ll move on to the next step!
Step 2
For the second step of our how to draw a cartoon wolf guide, we’ll draw more facial details for this adorable wolf.
We’ll start with the eyes; they’re large and expressive as you can see in the reference image.
We will contain them in large oval shapes, and the eyes will be drawn using a combination of round and oval shapes.
Next, the nose is drawn in a rounded triangle shape, and in the end, we have some curved lines on the face leading to the right ear.
Step 3
We’re now done with the head and face, and in this step, we’re going to add the back and first foot for this cute wolf! The wolf’s back is drawn with a simple line that curves inward near the top.
So the leg is drawn with curved lines connected to make it look hairy.
You can then add the foot, and because of the way the wolf is sitting, it will do so so you can see the base of the foot.
It has a rounded pad at the base and four rounded prongs that connect. Finish off this step with a curved, pointed tail, and then we can move on to Step 4!
Step 4
Now let’s add the beginning of more legs and feet for your cartoon wolf design. First, let’s extend a slightly curved line down from the base of the mouth.
This will then attach to more of those rounded toes that connect. Finally, draw another curved line from the front paw and then draw another paw.
This time we won’t see the underside of the paw, but it will have similar-looking rounded toes.
We’ll add some detail and finishing touches in the next step of the guide when you’re ready!
Step 5
This step of our how to draw a cartoon wolf guide is about finishing with some final details before coloring it in the final step!
First, we’ll fill in the chest space by adding another leg. We will draw this with curved lines with sharp points that extend outwards, and then we will draw some small rounded dots at the end.
Finally, draw some jagged lines near the tip of the tail, and you’re done!
Once you’ve finished those final details, feel free to add some of your own.
Try some ideas, such as B. drawing a fun background or adding more animal friends to play with.
Step 6
Your cartoon wolf drawing already looks great, and now we’re going to make it look even better by adding some colors! This is where you can take over and show what you can do.
We showed you how to color this wolf in our sample image, but that’s one of many possibilities.
You could use all sorts of gorgeous colors to finish off this guy. You can keep the colors soft and realistic or use a fun styling approach.
